Riding the First Wave: Why I Started This Blog

Riding the First Wave: Why I Started This Blog

Hello there, I hope you’re all doing well. This is JSnake, just a mammal on Earth who loves hearing sounds. As someone who loves music so much that I can’t take my earphones off, I want to dedicate this page to music — one of my favorite parts of me. Being a curious person, I truly enjoy exploring sounds from all around the world: countless noises, remixes, and genres that I can experience while sitting in one place. To me, it feels like traveling to a whole new world and visiting it for three minutes… or however long the song lasts.

So why this sudden thought of writing a blog about music out of nowhere? Honestly, I get it — it feels random. But the reason comes from a small story. Today, while traveling home by bus, I didn’t have a seat, so I had to stand the whole way. Standing for an hour can be painful, with legs aching badly. What did I do? I popped in my earphones and played a song called ‘Aaha’ from the movie Vaazhl.

The moment I heard it, I was transported to a completely different place — where it was just me and the waves of the sea. I can’t even put into words how the song made me feel. Music has that secret power. For someone like me, who’s too lazy to wake up early for a sunrise, this song made me feel what a sunrise looks like.

The entire album of Vaazhl was composed by one of my favorite singers, Pradeep Rangaswamy Kumar. He’s my absolute favorite — to the point where I squeal whenever I hear his voice. And this album shocked me! The fact that he could compose an entire masterpiece for a film left me stunned. Just like this album, there are so many unexplored gems I want to share here… and that’s why I started this blog

I’ll be talking about many types of music here — from Carnatic to EDM. Since writing about music makes me so happy, I’ve promised myself to post every week (fighting against my procrastinating self). If this blog page were like a message in a bottle thrown into the deep ocean, I hope you stumble upon it — and that it makes you happy too.
